Sentinel Systems is pleased to announce its new status as a FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) accredited supplier for its range of advanced vehicle camera and sensor systems.
The accreditation promotes Sentinel’s products as being in-line with the latest FORS regulations. Leading independent catering supplier, Reynolds, has installed Sentinel Systems’ vehicle safety solutions onto two new trucks. Reynolds also holds a Bronze standard by FORS.
Sentinel Systems has worked with Reynolds on many projects, having already installed its reversing cameras and side-scanning cyclist protection systems to all of the large vehicles within its 250 vehicle fleet. For the two new 18-tonne Econic vehicles, Reynolds opted to install Sentinel’s 360° cameras, linked to an in-cab monitor and recording DVR unit, which also includes an audible side-scanning cyclist detection system.
Sentinel’s full range of high-spec vehicle cameras and various sensors have been approved by the FORS organisation for use on vehicles that are looking to achieve a FORS accreditation. Reynold’s newly installed 360°cameras give a complete view of the vehicle’s surroundings, including the rear and near-side blind spots. The system also gives an audible warning when a cyclist is alongside, and strobe lights can also be used to assist crew members at night.
Marshall Fleming, General Manager at Sentinel Systems commented, “We have been connected with FORS for many years, having sponsored a number of events and have always supported their work within the industry. We are very honoured to now be working with them as an official supplier and hope we can help make an impact on the safety of vehicles across the UK.”
Sentinel offers a wide range of cameras, including specialist reversing, side-scanning and forward- facing cameras, which together can give a full 360° view of the vehicle’s surroundings. With this, drivers are able to identify pedestrians, cyclists, third-party vehicles and buildings, giving them enough notice to take caution when manoeuvring. All installed cameras are linked to Sentinel’s split-screen in-cab monitor for a permanent view at all times. The cameras can be supported by a mobile DVR unit, complete with an extractable 1TB hard drive to capture footage to be used in a crash-for-cash or other defence claim.
Sentinel’s products have been widely adopted by fleet operators across the UK and worldwide that are looking to improve the safety of their vehicles. As a FORS accredited supplier, Sentinel is dedicated to helping companies improve the safety of their vehicles and assist drivers in the challenging conditions faced on UK roads.
