When you are recording the footage from a camera, especially with a reverse camera, the recording usually has to be flipped so that it makes sense to the driver. This cable splits the feed coming from the camera into two, so that you can have a feed going into the monitor and another feed going into the DVR, giving you the true recording and a useable monitor view simultaneously.
